Who put hotelpepper together?

Hotelpepper has been sown, grown and watered by me, Michael Frankland.

I love hotels, travel, coffee, and the joy and power the Internet gives to people like you and me to find great things out and make connections - like cheap hotel deals. This was almost impossible pre-Internet. The tables of power are turning for the better. Happy hotel hunting and hope you have a great holiday, weekend away or business trip wherever you go. Really hope this site saves you some time and a bunch of money. Let me know if it does : )

What browser or computer?

Any super cool web standards compliant browser will work to show you all the great hotel deals we can find, including: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

As the site is standards compliant it works on all of those but will look super-better in Chrome, Firefox or Safari as it has some cool CSS3 rounded edges and other wizardry (geek alert)

iPhone and other internet enabled phones (Blackberry, Android) will rock n' roll the site too. ~~We hope to have a native iPhone / mobile site up and running one day but this desktop version works great with safari on the iPhone already.~~ There is now a mobile version of the site that looks great on mobile phones (iPhone, Blackberry, Android included!) - visit the hotelpepper homepage to be automatically redirected or go to the mobile version of the site here. If you ever want to visit this desktop version of the site, just click the "visit desktop" link at the bottom of the mobile site.

Would love to hear your feedback on the mobile version of this site if you have any ; )

What currency can I search in?

Australian Dollars; Canadian Dollars; Swiss Francs; Danish Kroner; Euros; British Pounds; Hong Kong Dollars; Japanese Yen; Norwegian Kroner; New Zealand Dollars; Swedish Kronas; Singapore Dollars; US Dollars and South African Rand.

If the currency you want to use is not selected after you have conducted a search, just select it from the left side "refine your search" settings.

Hotelpepper is completely independent and transparent in its search results. It's committed to finding you the best deals for your money and giving you the results that you want to make a better and more informed decision when booking your hotel. Hotelpepper doesn't sell hotels itself and instead displays prices from hotel sites that you would find if you searched all these sites individually yourself. The results are unbiased and the prices are exactly the same with no mark-up on our part.

How do I book?

You just need to search through hotelpepper, sort through the room rate or hotel rate that interests you most at your desired destination and click on the site which gives you the most bang for your buck!

You'll be taken to the corresponding website of that offer and then you can proceed to complete the booking and payment with them.

You've just hopefully saved yourself some time and got a good deal on the room rate by searching all the best sources at the same time. This is something traditional search engines or hotel sites can't help you with.

I want to complain about my hotel or booking?

Sure, that's perfectly understandable and you should if it's below par or less than what you expected.

The best way to do is is either to take it up with the hotel directly or through the hotel provider/supplier that you booked the hotel with. Your booking/reservation voucher should have more information on how to proceed with complaints or changes or complications with the booking.

Currently it's possible to search in 6 other languages along with English: Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Portuguese, German, Russian and French.

We are keen to add more languages as we go so please search in one of the above languages for now and check back later to see when we have localised the search for your mother tongue.

You can refine by location from a specific area in the chosen hotel city; by price; by currency; by star ratings; by hotel brand; by refining words in the hotel name; by hotel features and even by property type. The results that hotelpepper brings you can be further cut down and refined so helping you to make a short-list of hotels much quicker and more efficiently.

Is this site secure?

We never ask you for any personal or payment details - only your desired location, dates and number of people for your hotel preferences.

When it comes to reserving your room you will be redirected to the industry-standard secure servers of the well-know and trusted hotel supplier.

How does it work?

Step 1: You enter in your hotel requirements (guests, city, dates) - hit search

Step 2: The website searches and correlates data from over 30 travel sites all at the same time (in about 30 seconds) and presents it to you to look through and decide on something

Step 3: You can then browse through these results (the best hotel rates available online at the time of search) and can sort by hotel popularity, proximity to the city centre, landmark or attraction, and also sort by rates and so on.
